Jamie Wave is just an ordinary boy, not particularly big or brave or clever. He knows a lot of jokes and he’s good at making masks. Both of those talents will stand him in good stead when the sinister Maskmaker lures him to her mysterious shop. There, he will be forced to choose a mask and to step through a magical mirror in the back of the shop, a mirror that will transport him to a faraway world.

Amazing journeys in all manner of strange disguises lie ahead. His wits and courage will be tested to the limits in the dangerous challenges set for him; and unless he prevails, his family and friends, and the world he knows, will all be lost forever.
